My Path to Blogging…

Have you ever felt drawn or pulled towards something your whole life?  For me, it’s always been writing.  I’m thrilled to be able to share my thoughts and ideas with you through my journey as a blogger!

My path to blogging…

My path to blogging started back when I was a little girl…I LOVED to write!  Growing up I had dreams of becoming a children’s book author.  I would spend hours creating books to “publish” and read to my younger sisters.  As I grew, I still had a passion for writing, but also found a passion for teaching others when I volunteered in a Kindergarten classroom during high school.

In college I graduated with a bachelor of science in education with a minor in English (I just couldn’t stop writing!!).  Early on in my career as an elementary teacher I realized how much I not only loved teaching, but also loved mentoring new teachers, leading, learning new curriculum, and getting to know more kiddos and parents than in just one classroom.  I graduated with a master of science and hold a principal and direction of instruction license.  I left teaching to pursue a career in administration.  I always say that everything I knew that I would love about being a principal I did…the problem was that I had absolutely NO balance in my life.  My world is my husband and my children, and they did not get enough of me with the fast track career path I was on.

After lot of prayer, reflection, and support from my incredible husband, I completely changed my path in life and I haven’t looked back!  I am now enjoying a more balanced life and a happy home.  I’m currently a part time career woman teaching literacy to 3rd graders (I told you I couldn’t stop writing, storytelling, and sharing my passion for literacy!!), supervising student teachers for my alma mater, I have new found time for blogging to get my passion for creative writing going, and have the majority of my time saved for the people who I love most…my family!

I look forward to sharing the journey with you as we support each other in building the happy home we all desire!

Love and blessings,

Allison
